“As 7” / “The 7” (working title)

Trabalho em processo sobre sete das esposas de Ngungunhana que foram levadas como prisioneiras em 1896 com Ngungunhana, um dos seus filhos, um cozinheiro, entre outros, para Portugal, depois de serem capturados por Mouzinho de Albuquerque. Acredita-se que as sete mulheres foram mandadas a São Tomé, onde viveram o resto das suas vidas. O texto de Maria da Conceição Vilhena aqui tenta contar parte da história. Work-in-progress on seven of Ngungunhana’s wives that were reported as taken prisoners in 1896 along with Ngungunhana, one of his sons, and a cook, amongst others, to Portugal, after being captured by Mouzinho de Albuquerque. It is believed that all seven women were sent to São Tomé island, living there for the rest of their lives.
